Our Story

Our History

Health Care Development Focus Initiative (HECADF) is a professionally managed, woman-led humanitarian and development organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of vulnerable populations through community-based interventions.

Established in 2008 and officially incorporated in 2010, HECADF was founded by five experienced professionals who shared a common vision of promoting human dignity by addressing poverty, poor health, social exclusion, and humanitarian challenges.

Over the years, HECADF has evolved into a respected indigenous organization implementing programmes across health, nutrition, protection, gender-based violence prevention, peace building, livelihood development, sanitation, hygiene promotion, and community empowerment.

Today, HECADF collaborates with international organizations, government institutions, civil society organizations, and local communities to design and implement programmes that improve lives and strengthen resilience in conflict-affected and underserved areas.

Geographic Coverage: HECADF primarily operates across Borno State in Northeast Nigeria, successfully implementing projects across most of the state's twenty-seven Local Government Areas. Interventions have been delivered in host communities, IDP camps, conflict-affected areas, hard-to-reach communities, and urban and rural settlements across the state.
